About
Based in West Yorkshire, Jessica Swift is a 24 year old Fine Art Graduate from Leeds Arts University. She specialises in Sculpture, Photography, Performance, Installation and Painting. Interested in the methods of making, she aims to allow the viewer to think about the process behind her work, rather than just the finished piece as a whole. After being diagnosed with Dyslexia, she struggled with the idea of possession when it came to writing about her work due to the checking and changing by Google and others proofreading her work. Her aim was to claim full possession over her work by making things only she understood without a piece of writing by its side. She is a paitning and pottery tutor at Young Masters Visual Art School, as well as running workshops and classes across Bradford, Leeds and York. She is currently working with S.E.M Management to create their promotional material, marketing content and helping to organise events such as Exhibitions, Festivals and Art Markets. She also works with TYRO Studios as their Resident Pottery Tutor and Paint and Sip Teacher. Alongside this, she also runs her own business, Happy Home Studio, which is an online store that specialises in Modern and Minimalist Home Decor and Wall Art.
